Why is daly city always foggy

View detailed profile Advanced or search site with Search Forums Advanced. Was wondering if anyone have any information they can share with me. I'm looking into buying a houses in the Daly City area and a big issue to consider is the fog. I don't mind fog, but I have some questions. My main concern is, I don't want to go through weeks where I see no sunshine. I don't mind if there's fog in the morning or at night, but how about on the afternoon? Say on a weekend afternoon, if I'm at home, I would like to enjoy some sun.

If and when it gets foggy and if it's foggy throughout the entire day, how many of those days are there? A couple months? Also, how strong is the typical fog in terms of visibility?

I know I am asking very specific questions but right now that's the biggest factor I have before I try to put in some offers for houses. I can take fog, but up to a certain extent and would like to know any information you would have or any experiences to share.

Thanks much! You should post this on the SF post to get more responses. But DC gets too much fog I believe you can do a weather search for more accurate information. There are some months were the place is foggy all day then there are times when the sun does shine and then boom the fog rolls in. Others can tell you better than I. The fog rolls in mid-afternoon. So it's conceivable that if you work normal office hours, you could only see the sun on the weekend. That section of Daly City gets some really amazing fog.

Thick, wet, blowing fog that can drench you as it rolls up the hill and crests over Skyline. Too many times to count cars would have to slow to a walking pace because of the thick fog. Most of the time it doesn't slow traffic too much. During the summer the fog usually rolls in around 1 pm on all but the hottest days when it shows up weaker and later in the afternoon. Spring is usually breezy and relatively fog free. Fall is nice, warm with virtually no fog.

Winter is mostly overcast and also limited fog during the day. It can sometimes get old but it really is a plus and it keeps the area cool and comfortable all year long and you use a lot less water in your yard.

Thanks to the Pacific Ocean, which contributes by providing the moisture and by its temperature, that contrasts greatly with the air surrounding it. The area gets foggy days per year that can stick around for weeks, especially during the summer months. It is a quiet but lively city, with diversity and pride. There is an emersion of various cultures which provide us with great food, shopping, and activity options. Daly City is a great little town right next to San Francisco.

It is different from the area I lived in from the Salinas Valley but similar. In San Francisco, fog is most common during the summer due to a combination of environmental conditions that cause wind patterns and ocean currents in the North Pacific to play off one another. When sea breezes blow over this cold water, water vapor is forced to condense out of the air, forming advection fog. Named after John D. See the table on nearby places below for nearby cities.

The rate of crime in Daly City is The foggiest place in the world. The title of foggiest place in the world goes to an area of the Atlantic Ocean called Grand Banks, lying off the coast of Newfoundland.
