Floyd seemingly sucker-punched Ortiz when he was trying to apologize for a blatant headbutt. Ortiz now has a knockout loss on his record, but there are certainly worse ways that he could have lost. During the first four rounds of the fight before the headbutt and knockout, Floyd was in charge of the fight, and headed to a victory. With that said, Victor Ortiz fought better than I thought he would. Victor showed a lot of heart, and proved to fight fans and analysts that he's tough as nails.
He was able to hit Mayweather with a few big shots, and despite getting lit up with straight right hands, kept coming forward. Getting KO'd in a controversial manner is the best possible way that Ortiz could have been defeated.
